The event, known for its friendly atmosphere and inclusivity, saw participants of all ages come together to enjoy a sunny, action-packed day of racing and community fun.
With five different categories to choose from, the WW X TRI truly catered to every kind of athlete. The event featured:
WW X TRI FULL: A challenging 1 km swim, 27 km ride, and 10 km run
WW X TRI LITE: A slightly shorter course with a 400 m swim, 10 km ride, and 5 km run.
Run4Fun: A 15 km trail run for the runners looking for adventure.
Run4Fun Lite: A gentler 5 km trail run.

From seasoned triathletes to first-time participants, there was something for everyone, making it a truly family-friendly event.
Grit, Determination, and Smiles All Around
The warm, dry conditions—typical for early September in Gauteng—didn't stop athletes from giving their all. With temperatures nearing 30°C, the dusty routes posed an extra challenge, but the athletes pressed on with grit and determination. In particular, Sello Ramaloko, the defending champion of the 15 km trail run, once again claimed victory in style. He applauded the organisers to a well organised event and said he loved the new route.
Across all categories, athletes raced with smiles on their faces, encouraged by the amazing crowd engagement. The positive and welcoming vibe carried through the entire event, with families and supporters cheering loudly from the sidelines.

Momentum, Squirt Cycling Products, Ozblu, and Jack Black Brewing Co. were among the event’s sponsors, adding to the festive environment with their support.
The day concluded with a prize-giving ceremony at 11:30, celebrating the winners across all categories and acknowledging the hard work of every athlete who participated.
The Woolworths Cross Triathlon once again proved to be more than just a race—it was a celebration of fitness, family, and fun. With such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, it’s no surprise that this event continues to attract participants from all walks of life, offering something for everyone.
